A newer treatment for spider veins anywhere on your body is VeinWave™, a minimally invasive electronic device that involves little to no discomfort and no downtime. VeinWave is an ideal solution for delicate and bony areas of the body, such as the face, knees, and ankles. These areas can be too small for other vein treatments, such as sclerotherapy, or too delicate for lasers. For this reason, we are excited to offer VeinWave in Northwest Arkansas as an effective new option for removing small, red veins on the face.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does VeinWave work?
During your procedure, an ultra-fine insulated needle will be inserted into the outermost layer of your skin. Without actually piercing the treated vessel, VeinWave transmits heat directly to the vessel, causing it to coagulate. The vessels will then be absorbed by your body.
Does VeinWave involve any pain?
VeinWave shouldn’t cause any major discomfort. For about a second, you may feel a pin-prick sensation, but the entire treatment process takes 15 to 20 minutes and is well-tolerated without any need for anesthetic.
Is there any downtime?
This “lunchbreak” procedure involves no downtime. The only side effect you may experience is minor reddening of the treated area, which may last for several days. You should be able to resume your normal activities immediately following treatment.
When can I see results?
Although the treated vessels will disappear immediately, the full effect of the treatment is visible after four to six weeks, at which time you will be reevaluated to see if further treatments are necessary.
